WASHINGTON, DC, - The American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) announced that it is partnering with Scriptsense, a mail-order prescription drug organization, to make national-brand pharmaceuticals available to its members nationally. The program becomes effective today.
AAPD, the largest cross-disability membership organization in the country, is committed to extending critical benefits to its national membership. Existing benefits include access to a full range of financial services through affiliated membership in the Digital Federal Credit Union (DCU); a subscription to AAPD News, a quarterly newsletter; discounted group legal services; life insurance; adaptive vehicle insurance; and discounts on car rentals through leading national companies.
Through this business partnership with Scriptsense, AAPD is responding to the needs of its members for brand-name prescription drugs at reduced rates. This program makes participation easy, as prescriptions are sent through the mail, with participants incurring no shipping charges. Because it fills prescriptions at affiliated licensed Canadian pharmacies, Scriptsense is able to pass savings directly to AAPD members.
This new critical Pharmacy Benefit has been specifically designed for individuals who require long-term use of national brand pharmaceuticals, with a minimum 90-day supply of the same drug required. It offers a wide array of brand-name prescription products approved in the United States.
AAPD members wishing to participate will be required to provide Scriptsense a prescription form from a medical doctor licensed in the U.S. who has examined that patient. The program furthermore features oversight and review of all submitted prescriptions by Canadian physicians, with prescription drugs to be dispensed only by registered pharmacists through licensed Canadian pharmacies.
Individuals wishing to enroll in this program must contact Scriptsense directly with their membership number by contacting them at 800-831-9328 (Voice/TTY). Additional Pharmacy Program information and enrollment forms are available by visiting the AAPD/Scriptsense website.
