Beginning this evening, January 24, from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. the Medicaid Commission will be meeting to focus primarily on Medicaid eligible populations. The agenda also includes discussion of the 1115 waivers and on Tuesday evening general discussion on issues such as the conference report on the Budget Reconciliation Legislation. The meeting will continue through January 25 and 26. The agenda is attached below along with the location of the meeting. All sessions are open for the public with public comments being taken on Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 25.

This Commission was appointed by Secretary Michael Leavitt, US Department of Health and Human Services, to submit a report by December 2006 with ideas for the future of the Medicaid program. Secretary Leavitt will be at the meeting of the Commission on Tuesday evening. This meeting is the first of six meetings this year in preparation of this final report. Updates on these meetings will be on AAPD's website shortly after each meeting.
