Receive a 25% discount on Building Bridges: A Manual on Including People with Disabilities in International Exchange Programs

In honor of International Education Week, November 18-22, 2002, the National Clearinghouse on Disability and Exchange (NCDE) is proud to offer a 25% discount on its popular Building Bridges: A Manual on Including People With Disabilities in International Exchange Programs. This 200-page practical manual is a valuable resource for international exchange organizations, colleges and universities. It includes sections on: budgeting for inclusion, producing alternative formats, arranging travel and medical insurance, and sharing personal experience stories.

"I use the Building Bridges manual a lot. You just open the book and you think of a topic, then you flip and find a section about that. If I have an insurance question, an interpreter question, etc.-- it is nice to have in the office." - University Disability Service Provider

"I read the Building Bridges manual and found it very helpful in increasing my understanding of how to include people with disabilities." - Overseas Training Program Coordinator

Additionally, readers will find tips and resources on topics such as recruitment, program and physical accessibility, practical adaptations, transportation, communication issues and anti-discrimination and disability laws. The manual also features a comprehensive resource section that serves as a quick reference on disability-related contact information. This 25% discount is available until November 30, 2002.

NCDE is managed by Mobility International USA (MIUSA) and sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the United States Department of State. The manual is available in print, text and audiocassette formats and is regularly sold for $20, including postage and handling.
