ADA Watch launched a petition in support of the ADA,
Charles Lane, and Beverly Jones.
October 2003Last week, at the I Can! Disability Summit in Charleston, SC,
ADA Watch launched a petition in support of the ADA, Charles Lane, and Beverly Jones. This is, of course, in response to the Supreme Court case Tennessee v. Lane. A negative ruling in this case might suggest that Congress did not have the power to enact many of the core provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Please see the web site to read the text of this petition, and to sign it.
Please note that the petition also contains the following poll question:
Recent Supreme Court decisions have significantly weakened the ADA. Do you believe Congress should pass an ADA Restoration Act to restore civil rights protections for people with disabilities?
