Call Congresss Today & Tell Your Representative
to Support Kids' Health Care
1-866-544-7573 (toll free)
Next week, Congress will vote on the State Children's Health Care Program (SCHIP), which now provides quality, affordable health care to 6 million children whose parents work, but can't afford insurance. With SCHIP, kids get doctor visits, medicine and the care they need. Without Congressional action, SCHIP will expire at the end of September.
The bill expected to come up next week will cover 4 million children who would otherwise be uninsured. This is one of the most important votes your Representative will cast. Your Rep. needs to stand up for those 4 million kids, and protect all the other children now covered by SCHIP. And stand up to President Bush's threat to veto SCHIP.
CALL 1-866-544-7573 TODAY! You'll be connected to the Capitol Switchboard - ask for your Representative's office (see below for help finding your Rep's name).
Tell your Representative to vote for an SCHIP bill that ensures coverage of at least 4 million children who will otherwise be uninsured and protects those now covered by SCHIP - and oppose President Bush's threatened veto.
To find your Representative's name enter your zip code at: www.house.gov (you'll find the spot at the top left).
Your call is so important because it will take a big vote (at least two-thirds) for Congress to show the President it will reject his veto. Please call.
Thanks to Services Employees International Union (SEIU) for the toll-free number.
