Welcome to the 2004 AAPD Leadership Gala!
It gives me great pleasure to serve as corporate chair of this evening's event on behalf of SAP America Inc. Your presence tonight reaffirms your commitment to the more than 56 million children and adults living with disabilities in the United States - nearly one in five Americans. People with disabilities are our family members, friends, and coworkers, and many are the reason we are here this evening. Many great Americans are remembered for their contributions to society, not the disability they nobly overcame. Together, we can help eliminate unnecessary obstacles and create an environment of equality for everyone to develop their talents and skills to the fullest.
At SAP, we strongly believe that everyone should have the opportunity to pursue his or her talents to the fullest - without limitation. Our commitment to accessibility is evidenced through our creation of the Accessibility Competence Center, establishment of a Section 508 Compliance Plan, ongoing research into accessibility issues, and global alliances with leading corporations in computer accessibility.
