4.0 PARTNER REPORT: BEACON COLLEGE IN LEESBURG, FL
July 16, 2012 | Dana Fink
The AAPD Higher Education team is thrilled to introduce our newest 4.0 Partner, Beacon College. AAPD 4.0 Partners are colleges and universities that help students with disabilities reach their full potential by sharing their best practices. Beacon College is the only accredited nonprofit college offering both bachelor and associate degrees exclusively for students with learning disabilities and ADHD. Every student attending Beacon College has a learning disability or ADHD and every student is provided supportive services that foster academic success at postsecondary institutions. The supportive services begin with the admissions process and carry throughout all aspects of student life at Beacon College; from academic supportive services to social and emotional supportive services. The remainder of this report will discuss in detail the supportive services and aspects of Beacon College that enable their students to be successful in a postsecondary setting.
AAPD is grateful to the staff and students at Beacon College for sharing with us some of their best practices in the field of higher education.
