Let me answer your questions

February 20, 2013  |  Jonathan Harmatz

Last May, I graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a Master's degree in Public Policy and Management. Once I graduated, I worked at the Department of Defense on training analysis for its network of overseas school and social media outreach.

I first heard about AAPD from my friend Randy Cooper, who is currently working for AAPD. I personally am extremely excited to be a part of the nation's largest disability rights organization.

My title at AAPD is administrative assistant, which means that I will be helping everyone in the office in any way that I can.  I am also here to support and serve the disability community as a whole.

I receive many different phone calls each day asking about a variety of different topics.  AAPD does not directly deal with each issue someone may call about, but it's my job to point them in the right direction.  I'm looking forward to helping and serving a population that I am part of and look forward to working with such a great team.

How wonderful to have a contact with AAPD as I have tried to reach y'all a few times about different issues. Thank you and congratulations, Jonathan. Matt- you do not say if you filed Chapter 7 or 13. If you filed 13 and do not have an atty to assist you with, you can discuss this with your atty or the trustee. With regared, Lorre

I am disabled from lupus. I have a family, I have terrible credit from waiting on social security disability and had to file bankruptcy. I need help with bills and getting a vehicle. I lost everything. I've tried to get loan for car and I have to have a big down payment for a used car. I cannot save to get one cause my check is gone after I pay bills and get a few groceries. So I have to make decision to have a place to live or get to dr's app. My wife is also disabled but cannot draw s.s.d. because we made the choice to have one parent home with our kids. Never expected to have both of us to be disabled in our thirties. So what I'm swallowing my pride and asking is, if there is somewhere I can get help to pay bills or get a vehicle. thank-you Matthew Whitt
