Mark's Weekly Message

March 5, 2013  |  Mark Perriello

A busy week is underway at AAPD. You may know that we hold our 11th Annual Leadership Awards today. However, the day leads off with two important events- a Disability Equality Index (DEI) breakfast and Health Care Policy Roundtable at noon.

At the DEI breakfast, we invited leaders from some of America’s leading corporations to the AAPD headquarters to discuss our plans for the rating system and to learn their thoughts on this powerful new tool in disability equality.

Later today, we have invited health care insurers and healthcare related companies to sit down with us for a conversation about the policy implications of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), as it relates to people with disabilities.

After a very full morning and afternoon, the main show starts at 6:15. We will be live tweeting and posting pictures from the event, so make sure to join us by following the conversation at #AAPDGala2013. Can’t wait to see you there!

And if the weather in DC holds, tomorrow we have our quarterly board meeting…
