Andrew J. Imparato Named New Executive Director of Association of University Centers on Disabilities

Silver Spring, MD (August 22, 2013) – The American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD), the nation’s largest disability rights organization, congratulates and welcomes Andrew Imparato as the new Executive Director of the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD).
“AUCD has selected one of the most qualified and thoughtful leaders to take the helm of such an important organization,” said Mark Perriello, the President and CEO of AAPD. “The AAPD board and staff look forward to continuing our partnership with AUCD under Andy's leadership.”
Imparato is the former President and CEO of AAPD and comes to AUCD from the position of Senior Counsel and Disability Policy Director for the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, chaired by Senator Tom Harkin of Iowa. Previously, Imparato served as the General Counsel and Director of Policy for the National Council on Disability, an attorney advisor with the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, counsel to the U.S. Senate Subcommittee on Disability Policy, and a staff attorney with the Disability Law Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
