Colin Schwartz
Senior Associate for Policy and Advocacy
Colin Schwartz is the Senior Associate for Policy and Advocacy at AAPD. He supports the policy and advocacy work of the organization, manages AAPD’s social media content and website, and assists with communications.
Colin brings a diverse set of policy experiences to AAPD. Prior to joining, Colin was the Manager of Viral Hepatitis Policy and Legislative Affairs at the National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors (NASTAD). In that role, he provided policy expertise and lead many advocacy initiatives on behalf of state health department viral hepatitis officials and for people living with or impacted by viral hepatitis. He coordinated a national coalition that helped bring about increases in federal funding for viral hepatitis programs in addition to supporting national efforts to secure the first national federal plan to address the epidemic. Before NASTAD, he worked on national sex education reform and on legislation for greater protections against LGBT discrimination and hate crimes.
He received his Masters in Public Policy (MPP) from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
