Zeenia Irani

Major Gifts Officer
Zeenia Irani is the Major Gifts Officer of the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD). She is responsible for streamlining AAPD’s fundraising activities and managing relationships with AAPDs Board of Directors and major donors.
Before joining AAPD Zeenia worked for a variety of progressive political candidates across the nation -- experiences which helped her develop a passion for advocacy and philanthropy. Earlier, she served as a Deputy Regional Finance Director for Emily’s List endorsed Senatorial candidate Susan Bysiewicz. There, she helped construct a comprehensive finance plan that subsequently raised over $2.3 million dollars. She also worked in one of the nation’s top Gubernatorial races for Governor Martin O’Malley, where her finance team outraised the incumbent by over $3.5 million dollars; resulting in a 14-point victory and the generation of over $13.9 million dollars.
In addition, Zeenia has also served on the Field Teams for Obama for America, the League of Conservation Voters, Congresswoman Lois Capps (CA-24) and Congresswoman Julia Brownley (CA-26).
Zeenia’s passion for public service began during the 2008 Presidential election, when she took a leave of absence from college to intern on Hillary Clinton’s political campaign. There, she was recognized for her outstanding communication and people skills; including bringing in donors to events, building excellent rapport with her peers, and taking relationships to respectful, personal levels that invariably achieved outstanding results.
Zeenia graduated from the University of California, Irvine as a double major in Political Science & International Relations.
