Assistive Technology
Assistive technology provides assistive and adaptive devices that help people with disabilities engage in life’s activities. It promotes greater independence by allowing people with disabilities to accomplish tasks in employment, education, technology use and everyday life that would otherwise have been difficult or impossible.
There are 56 state and territory programs funded by the U.S. Department of Education. These state assistive technology programs work to improve the provision of assistive technology to individuals with disabilities of all ages. Contact your state program today for more information.
Assistive Technology Loan Programs:
AT state programs lend out assistive technology.
Money for Assistive Technology:
Thirty-three of the state programs have alternate financing programs. Contact your state to see if they run such a program.
