Disability Candidates Forum: Illinois Governor’s Race
January 18, 2018 | 3pm-4:30pm | Chicago, IL

Disability organizations across the state will host candidates for Governor of Illinois for a non-partisan discussion of state disability issues. The Illinois primary election will be on March 20, so we want disability advocates to know the views of candidates. This event is the first of TWO disability forums; the next one will be for candidates for Illinois Attorney General on February 9. This event is coordinated by Access Living.

National Disability Voter Registration Week
July 15, 2018 | 12pm-4pm | Mount Prospect, IL

The American Association of People With Disabilities (AAPD) is partnering with libraries across the country for National Disability Voter Registration Week. This week is designed to encourage people with disabilities and their families, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and caretakers to register to vote! Voting can protect the issues people with disabilities care about, especially at the state and local levels. Members of the League of Women Voters will be on hand at Mount Prospect Public Library (10 S Emerson St, Mt Prospect, IL 60056) to assist anyone interested in registering to vote. Please bring two forms of identification with at least one showing your current address when you register. No registration necessary for this event. The Library requires at least a one-week notice if special accommodations are needed. The League of Women Voters Arlington Heights-Mt Prospect-Buffalo Grove Area including Wheeling and Elk Grove Village is partnering with Mt Prospect Public Library and Arlington Heights Memorial Library and holding voter registration events during National Disability Voter Registration Week. This event is meant to help individuals who might need additional assistance register to vote. Please encourage anyone who wants to register to vote to join us! The event will be held at Arlington Heights Memorial Library (500 N Dunton Ave, Arlington Heights, Illinois 60004).
