July 16, 2019 | 10am-12pm | 2222 West Braker Lane, Austin Texas
This is our official kickoff to National Disability Voters Registration Week (July 16-19). It’s a time when the country focuses on the importance of people with disabilities registering to vote so they can participate in important upcoming federal, state, and local elections.
Now more than any other time in memory:
* Elected leaders and political candidates are recognizing more than 4 MILLION Texans with disabilities—from birth to advanced age—as a powerful, important constituency.
* Issues important to people with disabilities must be part of the platform for any candidate running for public office.
Texans with disabilities CAN have an impact on the outcome of state and local elections. But to vote, you MUST register!
We’ll start at 10:00 am with a line-up of special guest speakers, followed at 10:45 am by free Volunteer Deputy Registrar Training for those who want to help out at the polls. Lunch will be served when the training concludes at 12 noon.

Texas Disability Issues Forum
August 27, 2018 | 10am-2pm | Austin, TX
August 27, 2018 will be an important day for the Texas disability community. That’s when the major candidates for Texas’ three highest offices — Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General — are invited to talk about public policy issues of interest to the Texas disability community. Candidates for the U.S. Senate seat
will also address disability concerns at the federal level. The Texas Disability Issues Forum (TDIF) takes place just 10 weeks before Election Day. It’s not a debate; but a chance for the candidates to share their positions on critical issues and answer questions from an independent moderator. The forum is non-partisan. Learn more about event and sponsorship details.
