AAPD Economic Power Award
AAPD will present the AAPD Economic Power Award to U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) for his work to expand inclusive employment opportunities for workers with disabilities through the Transformation to Competitive Employment Act and for his steadfast commitment to advancing the rights of people with disabilities. The Transformation to Competitive Employment Act would end legal subminimum wages for Americans with disabilities.
AAPD Economic Power Award
AAPD will recognize U.S. Congressman Bobby Scott (D-VA) with the AAPD Economic Power Award for his leadership on the Transformation to Competitive Employment Act and longstanding commitment to disability rights. The Transformation to Competitive Employment Act would provide resources to transition Americans with disabilities into competitive, integrated employment in mainstream environments and eliminate subminimum wages for workers with disabilities. Congressman Scott also introduced the Raise the Wage Act, which would further ensure all workers are paid a fair wage.
AAPD Leadership Award
Former Governor of Pennsylvania and the first U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security, Tom Ridge, will be presented with an AAPD Leadership Award for his commitment to increasing employment for people with disabilities and lifelong dedication to public service. As longtime Chairman of the National Organization on Disability, Governor Ridge’s leadership has been instrumental in advancing competitive integrated employment opportunities for people with disabilities and the enforcement of Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act.
AAPD Catalyst Award
AAPD is pleased to present Accenture with the AAPD Catalyst Award for their groundbreaking research in the report, Getting to Equal: The Disability Inclusion Advantage.

Each year at the Gala, AAPD presents two upcoming leaders with disabilities with the AAPD Paul G.
