Across the country, many states are trying to make it harder to vote. Over 250 bills have been introduced in state legislatures to restrict voting rights, and advocates of voting rights have had to work hard to fight these bills. Georgia was one of the first states to pass and sign a law in 2021 to significantly limit voting rights.

The REV UP network can play a big role in advocating against harmful voting rights legislation and supporting good bills that improve voting rights and accessibility. This REV UP Webinar: Protecting the Right to Vote focused on what is happening at the state and federal level to either improve or restrict the right to vote, how these bills will impact voters with disabilities and other marginalized communities, and how you can help protect the right to vote in your state. The webinar featured guest speakers and provided time for questions from the audience.

This event was hosted by AAPD’s REV UP Campaign, which launched in 2016, and is composed of state and national coalitions that work to advance the Disability Vote. REV UP stands for Register! Educate! Vote! Use your Power! REV UP’s mission is to foster civic engagement and protect the voting rights of Americans with disabilities.
