Director of Accessible Democracy

Alexia Kemerling (she/her) is the Director of Accessible Democracy at AAPD. In this role, she supports the REV UP Network, building the power of the disability vote from the local to the national level. She also serves as a subject matter expert on disability voting rights and election accessibility.

Alexia has advocated on a number of issues at the state level, including increasing wages for direct care workers, establishing statewide support services for DeafBlind people, and making state policy processes more accessible. She has used a range of methods in her work, ranging from traditional to creative tactics. Alexia is passionate about building a culture of access where disabled people have a seat at every decision-making table.

Alexia finds joy in drinking coffee, hanging out with her dogs, reading, and making art. She also occasionally writes for The Squeaky Wheel, a disability satire publication.
