RCIL Voter Registration Drive

RCIL, in partnership with Disability Rights New York (DRNY), is coordinating voter education presentations and voter registration drives in Utica, Amsterdam and Herkimer. DRNY will be delivering the voter education presentations and providing materials to help organize the registration drives.

The materials include New York State’s recent voting reforms, how to become an informed voter, important information voters with disabilities need to know and tips for transportation to the polls.

Accessible voting machines will be on-site for demonstration to allow individuals with disabilities the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the machines prior to Election Day.

REV UP Westchester is a coalition of people with disabilities and community organizations committed to getting out the disability vote in Westchester New York. On June 20th REV UP Westchester volunteers staffed a registration table and made a presentation around the importance of voting at the annual meeting of Westchester Disabled On The Move, one of the coalition’s member organizations. WDOMI is an independent living center which provides services and advocacy to people with disabilities.

REV UP Westchester is a coalition of people with disabilities and community organizations committed to getting out the disability vote in Westchester New York. On June 19th REV UP Westchester volunteers staffed a registration table and made a presentation around the importance of voting at the monthly regional leadership meeting of the Self Advocacy Association of New York State, one of the coalition’s member organizations.  SANYS is an organization founded and led by people with developmental disabilities. Their goal is to “help self-advocates build the skills and courage needed to speak up for themselves and others.”
