Nationwide

American Red Cross Disability Mentoring Day (DMD)
October 20, 2017

Disability Mentoring Day at The American Red Cross serves to organize an enterprise-wide program of job shadowing for college students with disabilities. The goal is to increase the awareness of students with disabilities about career and volunteer opportunities with the American Red Cross.

WHAT HAPPENS ON DISABILITY MENTORING DAY?

One-On-One Job Shadowing: College students with disabilities are matched with American Red Cross staff mentors according to expressed career interests. This enables students to learn more from their assigned shadow day hosts about a typical day on the job and how to prepare for that particular career.

Students can tour Red Cross offices, meet with American Red Cross employees and volunteers for informational interviews, and learn firsthand about different types of jobs and related opportunities at The American Red Cross. Offices may provide a full or half day experience.

Students interested in participating must complete the online application form by September 20, 2017.

For more information, please contact the DMD Coordinator.
