Zach Baldwin, Director of Outreach
Zach Baldwin serves as the Director of Outreach for AAPD. He initially joined the organization in 2012 as a Development Associate and has worked with AAPD in various roles since then.
Throughout his time at AAPD, Zach has helped secure corporate sponsorship, write grants, solicit individual donors, and plan fundraising events. Zach’s work with nonprofit organizations has spanned a variety of socially progressive causes from disability rights and gun violence prevention to HIV and LGBT rights.
As the Director of Outreach for AAPD, Zach manages communications, programs, and special projects. On the communications end, this entails social media interaction, email engagement, and press inquiries. Current AAPD programs under Zach’s purview include the Summer Internship Program for students with disabilities, the REV UP Campaign, Disability Mentoring Day, the Disability Rights Storytellers Program, the NBCUniversal Tony Coelho Media Scholarships, and the AAPD Paul G. Hearne Leadership Awards.
Zach believes nonprofit organizations have the capacity to become strong agents of change for social good. It is his mission to do whatever he can to aid these organizations in achieving their mission of helping those in need. Zach is particularly passionate about causes that support the LGBT and disability communities. He graduated from American University in May 2014 with a double-major in Political Science and Sociology and a certificate in Advanced Leadership Studies. In his free time, Zach enjoys travelling, brunch, and really bad sci-fi movies.
